Press Release & More Information

Peter Green brings one to amazing new heights of fantastic imagery, humourous revelations and sensational speculations through spoken word, performance poetry and catchy original sing-a-long-able songs.

His book, entitled:

“99% Pure White Light, Volume 1 by Peter Green”

is 240 page anthology of songs, stories and poems based on his 14 trips across Canada in 14 years, meeting thousands of friendly strangers - like you ~!

What people have been saying:

•        “Peter Green’s optimistic mini-songs could have gone on much longer.” - (McGill Daily)

•       “Peter Green is a funny guy.” - (spokeswoman of “Beautiful Girls”)

•        “It’s true.” - (anonymous & previously jaded - PhD professor to Jake Brown at a YAWP!)

•        "Refreshingly Optimistic” - (Grayson Walker of “Harvey Christ & Friends”)

•       Since 1995, Peter Green has been one of the leading voices in the Plateau.  His message expresses his love and faith for humanity.  His style is a refreshing change from the typical self-loathing, conspiracy-theory depressive excuse for poetry we usually see these days.  Peter Green also has this uncanny ability to recognize budding talent and has given many artists an invaluable opportunity to perform on his stage placing them on the map of the artistic Plateau-Montreal. Going to Peter Green’s show is one non-artificial means of stepping from one end of the universe to the other.” - (Robert Koenig)

Behind the Scenes

Inspiration & Preparation

Peter Green’s poetry is inspired by nature, friendly strangers, and peculiarly positive flashes of insight.  In preparation, Green spends dozens of hours sifting through pounds of pages of handwritten and printed pages of original material. A selection is then rehearsed in front of people, in the order with which they visit his studio.  Finally, while on stage, he selects, according to the momentary mood of the audience, the precise order necessary to maintain complete audience captivity and interest.

What it is like at a show:

People tend to:

a)   Laugh

b)  Listen silently

c)   Cheer, or

d)  Applaud -

depending on the mood of the moment, and come away feeling completely saturated with imagery and satisfied with exhilaration, yet somehow always having such an exquisite after-taste as to keep relishing the content and cherishing more ~! J
